Seeking ‘Your’ Birds in Vermont Photos
Maeve and
Bernie are beginning an ongoing project to collect and publish (on our Vermont
Birds and Words blog) bird photos taken in Vermont. We need your help!
One of our
goals - continually update a bird images catalog with images of each species
shown at as many different angles as possible. In addition, we wish to capture
and share images showing variations of each species (such as the chickadee with
a white capped head that we viewed this winter).
We hope the images will aid visual
identification, (including male vs. female, immature vs. mature bird, breeding
plumage VS. non-breeding plumage), and added appreciation for variances in
individual species.
Would you
like to share one or more of your best or most unusual bird images with the
world and us? Send your photo(s) to Bernie.paquette@yahoo.com
.
Please
include:
Your photo(s) – tightly cropped ideally – JPEG format preferred.
Your name (We will give you photo credit
on the posting).
Date image taken
Location
Location description (Optional): Woodland, coniferous forest, near
water, boreal forests, field-grassland, shrubs/thicket, backyard, mountain,
lake, river, pond, stream, marsh, cliffs, ECT.
Any text / story / comments (Optional). Your
story or comments help make the photo ‘standout’, enlivens and personalizes the
event of your viewing of the bird.
The posting
will change periodically as we receive new photos and review the existing
images posted with a goal of offering the best and most varied views from those
we receive.
Thank You
for your consideration. Remember this is
an ongoing project – keep us in mind as you review current bird images as
well as when you capture new bird images in the future.
Maeve and
Bernie
