Snap, Grackle, Pop Goes Spring

Oh come sweet spring
you tempt us with drops from the spigot
then hide behind blankets of clouds
you turn the thermostat up a few notches
then let it fall like an ice-shanty on diminishing ice.

Birds answer the question, where is the color of, where is spring?    by Bernie

When snow is melted, insects stretch their six legs, trees bud with hope and a prayer; when sun lifts spirits more than temperatures, against deep blue skies against a cold breeze; when bluebirds set atop our meadow fenceposts, we know spring has arrived in Jericho, Vermont.

Snap GRACKLE, pop goes spring. But where is the color, the yellow and white of Daffodils, the reds of tulips, the violet and scarlet of iris?

What you talkin bout?
My wings are dipped in the colors of rainbows.

I am ahead of the blue sky!

I bring golden sunshine to every tree I visit.

Romance is in the air as Doves fall in Love again and again.

A first-year Red-winged blackbird male ruffles its rusty-colored feathers. Don't put away the winter coat or snow shovel just yet.

Chickadees look in every cavity, under every tree bark, every nook and cranny - if spring is here they will find it.

Spring is in the air - just listen, it may not feel like spring, but listen to the bird song announcing the season of love - warm and colorful.

Open your hearts, spread your wings, fill your lungs with over-wintered fresh air. Welcome spring in Vermont.
